CAMEUS is a regional group within Graduate Women International (GWI) made up of the three National Federations and Associations in North America: the Canadian Federation of University Women (CFUW), Women Graduates of the United States of America (WGUSA), and the Federacion Mexicana de Universitarias (FEMU).
At the online session January 12, 2020, representatives of each group did presentations on their organizations and on issues of importance to women in each country. Although the three national organizations are very different in size and structure, all three organizations share common areas of concern for including immigration, human trafficking and violence against women.
A highlight of the event was the presentation by Mexico featuring their Women’s Museum – Museo de la Mujer. This was a project of FEMU and was opened in 2011. It is not only a museum of the history of women in Mexico but also serves as a cultural and social centre in the neighbourhood where it is located.
